JUMP FOR KIDSIt all began in the early '90s with Pastor Jeff Perry and Pastor Patsy Perry's vision, one hundred kids, and a Vacation Bible School called "Bible Breakout." In 2002, it became JUMP, and today it's a major regional event that hosts more than 2,000 kids from the St. Louis area and beyond. This four-day, fun-packed summer day camp, for ages 5 - 13, requires 700 trained volunteers to make it happen—from planners, musicians, and script-writers to set-builders, craft workers, game supervisors, and more. Each year a new camp theme is selected based on a Bible story and character. Volunteers then write kid-friendly music and humorous Bible-based dramas to support the theme and help the kids apply the principles to everyday life. There's also lots of fun to be had outdoors-like cooling off at the water park, burning energy in the field games, and getting creative in the giant crafts tent. |
